What I like about this post is its simplicity in pointing out what many people miss. Everyone is a hero to someone else -- if they just realize it. Every time you restore a file from backup you're a hero to someone. Every time you bring the server back up after a crash and no one lost any data you're a hero. DBAs have the opportunity to be a hero every single day. The people who take the time to share their know-how and skills to us at events like PASS are heroes to those heroes.
Nicely done.
