Call of Blood - (anti) book review

A book beginning with the words: "The tragic death of a family is not a coincidence, it is a call for blood," it seems to be a balm for every fan of horror films, from the heart, hungry for good books. Unfortunately, "The Call of Blood", in my opinion, will not satisfy any literary taste, but will leave a bitter aftertaste of the book, which I would prefer not to reach anymore.

Krzysztof (after Chris left for the USA), we meet on a lazy and seemingly ordinary evening, which does not promise to be any kind of family tragedy. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The stranger, as it turns out, a vampire attacks the boy's family, killing his parents and sister. Krzysztof miraculously escapes death, all thanks to a werewolf named Ephraim. The old werewolf, who, by the way, reminded me very much of Whistler's movie from the Blade series, not wanting a boy in critical condition to say goodbye to his life, gives him his curse, making him a werewolf.

We meet the guy again in a few years. He is no longer a weak boy, but a handsome young man who knows how to fight and wield firearms and white weapons in one finger. Chris, along with Ephraim and his werewolf friend Mike, are hunting vampires in Detroit. However, in addition to this, the young werewolf needs to attend school, where he meets Megan. A beautiful girl who is in serious danger because of dating Chris...

As I wrote in the introduction, the book, in my opinion, is very weak. The description of the plot on the back cover and the prologue inspired me with a taste for a good position. The prologue begins with a beautifully crafted legend about the rise of the first vampires, I must admit that I read it twice, but after this introduction I could not find myself directly in this book. The level of writing is at least weak, the characters do not stand out in any way, and the dialogues are empty.

However, from the very beginning. Megan is about seventeen, and yet this proposal struck me:

"I spent most of the time before the New Year in my room, constantly painting, mostly deer, gnomes dressed in Santa clothes or angels. The Christmas atmosphere completely captured me."

After reading some of her thoughts, as well as this sentence, I saw an image of an 11-year-old girl sitting in a pink room with a poster of J. Bieber, drawing on fragrant sheets of paper from a binder. Her childish behavior was completely inconsistent with the role she played in the book.
